What inspired you to apply for the grant?

My inspiration to apply for this grant comes from my longstanding commitment to advancing research and teaching in political science, conflict studies, and governance, with a particular focus on the post-Soviet space. Throughout my career, I have sought opportunities that allow me to combine rigorous academic research with real-world impact. The Ludovika Scholars Program aligns perfectly with my interests in conflict, migration, and water diplomacy, and provides a platform to exchange ideas with scholars from diverse backgrounds. Attending the program would allow me to deepen my understanding of international academic practices and contribute my own expertise from Azerbaijan and the region. am especially happy and proud to be the first political scientist from Azerbaijan and the youngest Ludovika Scholar, which makes this opportunity even more meaningful and motivating.

What do you expect to gain from the Program?
I expect the program to provide a rich intellectual environment where I can engage with leading scholars, gain fresh perspectives on global issues, and refine my research approaches. Beyond academic knowledge, I anticipate strengthening my professional network, building long-term collaborations, and learning innovative methods for addressing complex challenges in conflict, migration, and environmental governance. I also hope to gain insights into effective interdisciplinary approaches, which I can integrate into my teaching and mentoring practices at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).

How does this grant contribute to your professional development or career goals?
This grant would be a significant milestone in my professional development. It would enable me to expand my research portfolio, engage in collaborative projects with international peers, and bring new methodologies and perspectives back to my home institution. Strategically, it supports my long-term goal of fostering research-oriented academic leadership in Azerbaijan, advancing knowledge in political science and water diplomacy, and mentoring the next generation of scholars. Ultimately, it strengthens my capacity to contribute meaningfully to both the global academic community and the development of higher education in my region.
