Jonatan Lerga

Jonatan Lerga is the Head of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity and the Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Rijeka, his professional fields are applications of artificial intelligence, digital signal processing, image processing and coding.Summary of Jonatan Lerga’s lecture is available HERE.

What made you apply for the grant? 

I visited Hungarian universities several times and was able to establish collaborations which resulted in papers in renown international WoS journals. Furthermore, in my research I use some of the information theory and coding first defined by Renyi, Hungarian mathematician. Also, Hungary is close and it is always good to have collaborators close. 

What do you expect from the program? 

I am looking to establish new friendships and collaboration, as well as extending my research network.

What role does this grant play in your professional career?

It is always nice to boost your CV a little bit more with international recognition like Ludovika Scholarship.
