The Faculty of Law Enforcement hosted a Romanian border policing expert as guest lecturer in the framework of Ludovika Scholars Program

The Faculty of Law Enforcement hosted Dr. Sergiu Adrian Vasile (PhD), professor of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza Police Academy (Bucharest, Romania) in the framework of the Ludovika Scholars Program between 13-17 November 2023.

The first professional program of the guest lecturer - who is also the head of the Department of Border Policing at his sending academy - was a public lecture titled „The European Integrated Border Management and the future of European Union external borders – states of play, main trends and new technologies” on 14 November 2023.

In his lecture, the professor introduced the function and the basic principles of Integrated Border Management, the several tasks of Frontex, and its importance in effective border enforcement. After the lecture, he visited the Memorial Room for Border Guards established by the Foundation for Border Guard Culture at the university campus. The guest lecturer attended the professional meeting organized by the Department of Border Policing of the Faculty of Law Enforcement, where he gave a short lecture for the national, regional and local leaders in the field of border policing. Sergiu Vasile’s last professional program was a workshop for the member of Saint George Student College for Advanced Studies on 16 November 2023. The enforcement of external borders, the Integrated Border Management, the new trends and techniques were the topics discussed together with the students during the workshop.
